报告摘要:Transition metal catalysis is a complex process, where each component of the reaction plays critical roles and compliments (and enhances) each-others activities. The acquiring of atomistic-level fundamental knowledge on the roles of each component (including catalyst, substrate, ligand, base, additive, solvent, and oxidant) of the targeted catalytic transformation, under the utilized experimental conditions, is a monumental and greatly attractive research missions. Success in this endower requires true collaborative efforts between the scientists with complementary expertise (in physical, synthetic, and theoretical sciences), and will enable us to develop more effective, highly selective, environmentally friendly (i.e. green and sustainable), and economically viable (i.e. utilizing of important and accessible substrates, and inexpensive ligands and transition metals) societally critical technologies.

报告人简介:  Professor Djamaladdin G. Musaev is currently the Chief Scientist at Emory University and is the Director of the Emerson Center. He has received a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Senior Fellowship. His primary scientific interests are in catalysis, inorganic chemistry, stereochemistry, catalytic oxidation and photochemistry. The concepts of his catalysis study are interwoven with issues in cobalt, molecule and ligand. His Inorganic chemistry research includes elements of heterogeneous catalysis, homogeneous catalysis, alkoxide, titanium and aqueous solution. He has published 410+ papers in Nature, Science, JACS etc., two Books, and six book chapters with 19800+ citations and an H index of 76.
