报告摘要：Molecular oxygen is indispensable to life, playing essential roles in many life-dependent chemical reactions. Whilst nature has mastered the mechanism of how to harness the reactions of O2, activation and use of O2 for selective oxidation remain challenging for chemist. This lecture will introduce some of the work we have been doing on selective oxidation by O2 using catalysts based on earth-abundant, bio-benign metals.
报告人简介：肖建良教授，国际上知名有机化学家，在均相催化、不对称合成及绿色化学等领域取得了突出成绩。肖教授分别于西北大学、北京石油化工科学研究院、加拿大阿尔伯特大学获得学士、硕士和博士学位，在Puddephatt教授课题组从事博士后研究工作后，1994年参加了诺贝尔化学奖得主Noyori教授领导的ERATO分子催化项目，1996年任利物浦大学Leverhulme Centre for Innovative Catalysis首席科学家，目前担任英国利物浦大学化学系教授，利物浦材料与催化中心副主任。其发现的水相促进的醛酮的不对称催化还原反应，这一反应作为高效高选择性的绿色催化反应已在制药工业中得到应用，被评为不对称催化领域的一项重要进展。肖建良教授研究领域为分子催化、不对称合成和绿色化学，在Nature Catal., JACS, Angew等等学术期刊上发表了280余篇论文，并获得了RSC Tilden Prize、UK Prize for Process Chemistry Research和利物浦大学Excelling at Innovation Award等奖项。
